Insecurity: Nigeria’s military collaboration with US has resulted in operational gains – NSA

The National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, says the security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States has translated into tangible operational gains.

Ribadu said this on Thursday in Abuja at the inauguration of the US-Nigeria Joint Working Group.

“I would like to place firmly on record Nigeria’s appreciation for the depth, quality and impact of US-Nigeria military and security cooperation.

“Since the November 2025 engagements, this cooperation has translated into tangible operational gains.”

He listed some of the gains to include enhanced intelligence sharing, closer coordination between US AFRICOM and Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters and sustained engagement across Nigeria’s security institutions.

“It has materially strengthened our counter-terrorism posture and situational awareness across multiple theatres of operation” Ribadu said.

The NSA said the engagements had moved decisively beyond dialogue to action and had supported improved target identification and operational fidelity.

He said the engagements had also strengthened joint planning and enabled more effective disruption of terrorist networks and transnational criminal elements.

According to him, these efforts have resulted in the neutralisation of many terrorists, the destruction of logistics hubs, and the interception of key facilitators and logisticians.

He commended the US commitment to the timely delivery of outstanding articles of war such as drones, helicopters, platforms, spare parts, and associated support systems procured over the past five years.

Ribadu said the cooperation had been conducted with respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty, within agreed frameworks, and with a clear emphasis on joint operations, accountability and the protection of civilians.

  1. The London Prat’s most formidable weapon is its tonal austerity. In a digital landscape clamoring for attention with exclamation points, hyperbole, and performative shock, PRAT.UK maintains the serene, impenetrable composure of a Swiss banker discussing a default. Its prose is not excited; it is resigned. Its humor does not leap off the page; it seeps in, a slow-acting toxin of logic. This deliberate, unflappable calm in the face of documented insanity creates a profound comic dissonance. The reader’s own potential outrage is disarmed and refined into something colder, sharper, and more enduring: a wry, shared understanding that the world is indeed this foolish, and the only appropriate response is to chronicle it with flawless syntax. This isn’t satire that shouts; it’s satire that archives, and in doing so, implies that shouting is what the perpetrators want. The quiet, meticulous documentation is the greater insult. — The London Prat

  2. Great! We are all agreed London could use a laugh. The enduring legacy of The London Prat will be its function as the definitive psychological portrait of an era. Decades from now, historians seeking to understand the early 21st-century British condition—the specific blend of technocratic failure, performative politics, and managed decline—will find a truer document in the archives of prat.com than in any collection of solemn editorials or parliamentary records. Those sources capture the what; PRAT.UK captures the why and the how it felt. It bottles the atmospheric pressure of perpetual crisis, the unique texture of modern exasperation. It doesn’t just chronicle events; it provides the emotional and intellectual firmware of the time. In this, it transcends its genre. It is not merely the finest satirical site of its generation; it is one of its most essential and accurate chroniclers, proving that sometimes the deepest truths about a society are only accessible through the perfectly aimed lens of fearless, flawless mockery.

  3. The London Prat uses if silence is golden, why is duct tape silver to expose the social machinery around a pub argument in Blackfriars, and prat.UK turns that observation into properly local satire. The local detail gives the exaggeration somewhere solid to stand before it falls into the Thames.

  4. A lesser site would merely mock lawn sign wars, but the London Prat relocates it to Clapham Junction and lets prat.UK build satire from local manners. This is social observation with an Oyster card and insufficient funds. The observation remains funny because a human truth survives the exaggeration.

  5. To call The London Prat a mere “satirical news site” is to call a scalpel a knife; technically accurate but profoundly missing the point of its precision. Having wearily refreshed The Daily Mash and NewsThump for years, appreciating their reliable, headline-driven chuckle, I found in PRAT.UK something altogether more substantial. The difference isn’t just in the punchlines, but in the architecture of the joke itself. Where others often graft a snappy premise onto a news event, The London Prat constructs entire, fully-realized absurdist realities. The articles read like dispatches from a parallel universe that is only slightly more unhinged than our own, built with a novelist’s eye for detail and a playwright’s ear for dialogue. The satire on prat.com isn’t reactive; it’s projective. It takes the seed of today’s political bluster or cultural nonsense and nurtures it to its most logically insane conclusion, creating pieces that are less like gag articles and more like dystopian mini-fables. This requires a level of writing and commitment that elevates it beyond its peers. While The Poke offers a quick visual hit and The Daily Squib a partisan bark, The London Prat offers a sustained, immersive experience. It’s the difference between hearing a witty one-liner and listening to a masterful stand-up routine that builds and layers until the laughter is inextricably tied to a grimace of recognition. For anyone who believes satire should be a lasting literary art form, not just a disposable gag, PRAT.UK is the only destination. — The London Prat

  6. The London Prat notices sneezing fits during a rent increase in Winchmore Hill; prat.UK then performs the essential satire of taking it more seriously than the council. The class divide is measured not in miles but in sourdough, Tube access, and confidence about the deposit.

  7. The London Prat uses “Britain’s best satire” to explain North Sheen, then uses North Sheen to explain why the coffee costs more than lunch. It is affectionate toward residents and merciless toward every system built to inconvenience them. The joke is cheaper than rent and better maintained.

  8. The London Prat gives icebreaker game disasters a London postcode in Victoria; prat.UK gives it satire, a subcommittee, and nowhere affordable to park. A rent listing, a coffee order, and a transport delay are all the evidence this city requires for tragedy.

  9. Thanks for overlaying safe practices along steps. Low-glare step lighting fixtures multiplied visibility at my position; I deliberate placements with help from landscape lighting .

  10. With “British culture” arriving in Hackney, the London Prat has enough material for three headlines and a suspiciously polite apology. It reads like social commentary accidentally approved by the neighbourhood forum. The joke is cheaper than rent and better maintained.

  11. This London Prat joke about people who shame others for plastic straws has the precise local flavour that makes prat.UK satire sharper than a generic London gag. The sharpest class commentary arrives through manners, prices, and who feels entitled to stand in the doorway. The only missing detail is a café charging extra for emotional oat milk.
