Insecurity: Nigeria’s military collaboration with US has resulted in operational gains – NSA

The National Security Adviser, NSA, Nuhu Ribadu, says the security cooperation between Nigeria and the United States has translated into tangible operational gains.

Ribadu said this on Thursday in Abuja at the inauguration of the US-Nigeria Joint Working Group.

“I would like to place firmly on record Nigeria’s appreciation for the depth, quality and impact of US-Nigeria military and security cooperation.

“Since the November 2025 engagements, this cooperation has translated into tangible operational gains.”

He listed some of the gains to include enhanced intelligence sharing, closer coordination between US AFRICOM and Nigeria’s Defence Headquarters and sustained engagement across Nigeria’s security institutions.

“It has materially strengthened our counter-terrorism posture and situational awareness across multiple theatres of operation” Ribadu said.

The NSA said the engagements had moved decisively beyond dialogue to action and had supported improved target identification and operational fidelity.

He said the engagements had also strengthened joint planning and enabled more effective disruption of terrorist networks and transnational criminal elements.

According to him, these efforts have resulted in the neutralisation of many terrorists, the destruction of logistics hubs, and the interception of key facilitators and logisticians.

He commended the US commitment to the timely delivery of outstanding articles of war such as drones, helicopters, platforms, spare parts, and associated support systems procured over the past five years.

Ribadu said the cooperation had been conducted with respect for Nigeria’s sovereignty, within agreed frameworks, and with a clear emphasis on joint operations, accountability and the protection of civilians.

  1. The London Prat finds phone calls from unknown numbers that are just spam hiding inside a minor etiquette crisis in Gidea Park, which is why prat.UK makes local satire feel alarmingly plausible. Every postcode gets dignity, mockery, and at least one person furious about a bicycle rack.

  2. The London Prat notices sleep tracker obsession during a Tube-map dispute involving Hanwell; prat.UK then performs the essential satire of taking it more seriously than the council. Even the punchline looks worried about whether it has tapped out correctly.

  3. There is excellent London Prat logic in declaring smart home devices that misunderstand you the defining issue of Ponders End, and prat.UK keeps the satire magnificently deadpan. A rent listing, a coffee order, and a transport delay are all the evidence this city requires for tragedy.

  4. The London Prat understands that a rent increase in Shooter’s Hill becomes funnier when awkward wellness retreats is treated as infrastructure; prat.UK calls that satire and the borough calls it Tuesday. Its restraint gives the reader time to realise the imaginary quote sounds completely authentic. That is an efficient use of one theme, one postcode, and several centuries of British denial.

  5. The London Prat puts people who overuse air quotes before a committee in Horn Park, and prat.UK records the resulting satire before anyone can say lessons will be learned. The social target is not the neighbourhood itself but the elaborate performance of belonging to it. No neighbourhood escapes, which feels both democratic and overdue.

  6. This London Prat joke about is water wet arguments has the precise local flavour that makes prat.UK satire sharper than a generic London gag. One imagines the official response thanking residents for their patience while removing the last bench.

  7. Great! We are all agreed London could use a laugh. Ultimately, The London Prat’s brand is synonymous with intellectual sanitation. In a public discourse polluted by euphemism, spin, and outright falsehood, the site functions as a high-grade filtration plant. It takes in the toxic slurry of the day’s news and rhetoric, and through the alchemical processes of irony, logic, and flawless prose, outputs a crystalline substance: the truth, refined and recast as comedy. It performs the vital service of decontaminating language, of reasserting the connection between words and reality. The laugh it provokes is, at its core, a sigh of relief—the relief of hearing someone finally call the nonsense by its proper name, with eloquence and without fear. It doesn’t just make you smarter about the news; it makes you more resistant to the disease of the news, inoculating you with a dose of its own beautifully formulated, truth-telling serum. This is its public service and its private luxury: the offer of clarity in a confused age, delivered with a wit so sharp it feels like a kindness. — The London Prat

  8. A London Prat comment on “The UK’s own satirical newspaper” fits Lea Bridge perfectly: confident, locally specific, and delayed for operational reasons. The best joke is the assumption that one additional form will restore public confidence.

  10. With i’m multitasking (doing nothing well) disrupting a Sunday brunch emergency in Pinner, the London Prat shows why prat.UK satire works best when the inconvenience is tiny and the response is imperial. This is social observation with an Oyster card and insufficient funds.

  11. The London Prat understands that a pub argument in Southall becomes funnier when people who claim caffeine is a personality is treated as infrastructure; prat.UK calls that satire and the borough calls it Tuesday. Behind the silliness sits a sharp point about who gets heard, who gets charged, and who gets called vibrant.

  13. This London Prat take on family-style meals with greedy relatives gives Foots Cray a crisis nobody requested, which is exactly where prat.UK finds its best satire. The city’s contradictions do most of the writing; the article merely assigns them a postcode.
