Sit-at-home: Simon Ekpa under fresh threats as police kill four enforcers

Finland based Biafra agitator, Simon Ekpa has threatened to announce another week-long lockdown with palliatives across the Southeast.

Ekpa who describes himself as Prime Minister of the Biafra Republic Government -in-Exile on his Twitter handle said he would announce the date for the fresh lockdown soon.

His words: “Our sit at home recorded 100% compliance. Because of this propaganda and lies we will lockdown Biafra for another week and provide palliative to Biafrans. I will announce another week-long lockdown with palliative across Biafra land. Start date will be announced. It will be simultaneous with stopping oil exploitation from Biafra soil.”

Meanwhile, Enugu State governor, Peter Mbah, yesterday described the sit-at-home enforcers as individuals “out to destroy Enugu State and Igboland” adding that his administration had “won the actual war against sit-at-home enforcers” in the state.

Speaking with journalists on Saturday, Mbah said the perpetrators “have now resorted to scaremongering, peddling of fake news, and all manner of dramas to instill fear in our people and control their minds and actions”.

He urged residents of the state not to “allow those who do not have the mandate of the people dictate for us how to live our lives”.

“The truth is that we have won the actual war against sit-at-home enforcers and murderers out to destroy Enugu state and Igboland,” Mbah said.

“We have unleashed the security resources on them, and they have been thoroughly defeated and discomfited.

“We practice democracy. We can never allow murderers and terrorists to dictate to us. We must not allow those who do not have the mandate of the people to dictate to us how to live our lives; when to go out, when to close our businesses and when to sit at home.

“What we are facing now are media terrorists using social media to instigate fear and peddle fake news. We must not allow them to succeed. It is totally unacceptable. Nobody can make you inferior without your consent. These hoodlums are very few compared to our numbers. We cannot be taking instructions from hooligans.

“We must not allow those without our mandate to tell us how to live our lives. We have a duty to ensure that we flush them out in all directions. They have no stake in the affairs of our state.

“It is, therefore, our responsibility to re-orientate our people to start coming out and going about their normal businesses. We have a duty to kill fake news and counter it with our superior pen and media.

“Therefore, as we are leaving here, we must begin to tell our people the right thing; that nobody can make them inferior without their consent; that we can’t be cowed by the cowardly acts of a few people.”

The governor added that sit-at-home enforcers are “separate” from the call for the freedom of Nnamdi Kanu, the detained leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).

“As media people, it is important you educate our people for them to know that these sit-at-home enforcers are not after Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s welfare or freedom. We must be able to separate the two,” the governor said.

“Ndigbo are on one page in demanding the release of Nnamdi Kanu. I have also seen the president over this matter. Other Igbo leaders have made the same demand, and we are not relenting.”

Police kill four in Enugu

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have netralised a four-man gang of gunmen, who attempted to enforce an illegal weeklong sit-at-home in Enugu in the early hours of Friday.

The Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Command, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, disclosed this in Enugu, late Friday night, recalling that police had earlier on the same day reported that operatives of the Awkunanaw Division of the Command intercepted and engaged the criminals in a gun duel at One-Day, Awkunanaw, Enugu, as they were snatching an Enugu State Transport Company, ENTRACO-branded Sharon mini van at gunpoint for their deadly operation.

“Although they managed to escape with serious gunshot injuries, a thorough search conducted on the vehicle led to the recovery of one AK-47 rifle with a magazine loaded with 19 live ammunition of 7.62 calibres, two bottles of petrol bomb and other incriminating exhibits.”

But, giving an update on the operation, the command spokesman said: “Further to the earlier report on Police operatives serving in Awkunanaw Division of the Command, dislodging armed subversive criminal elements, who attempted to enforce the illegal sit-at-home order, in the early hours of today, 07/07/2023, a combined team of tactical Police Operatives of the Command have further discovered and recovered the lifeless bodies of four (4) of the male hoodlums, in a forest behind G. Ede Filling Station/7-Up, at Awkunanaw, Enugu, where they escaped into.

“The Commissioner of Police, CP Ahmed Ammani, has once again reassured that the Police and other Security Forces in the State shall not relent in their efforts to maintain maximum security and safety of the law-abiding citizens, as they go about their lawful businesses. He, however, solicits their continued support.”

Gunmen kill two, raze market in Imo

A popular market in Imo State, Orie Amaraku in Mbano Local Government Area of the state was set ablaze by gunmen enforcing sit-at-home yesterday.

The gunmen who stormed the market late Friday night shot sporadically to scarce away people before setting the market ablaze.

According to eyewitnesses, the hoodlums also burnt several vehicles and tricycles alongside some vehicles parked in the area

A woman who sustained a wound on her left leg said “the boys came with guns and were shooting into the air warning everybody not to come to the market on Saturday which is the market day.”

Another passerby said “several tricycles were set on fire, making many of the operators to be weeping. The hoodlums equally destroyed tables and all structures in the market. Even the soldiers stationed near the market all disappeared.

“The gunmen said nobody should come on the market day on Saturday, they said this is warning to everybody to stay at home.”

Also, today(Saturday) at about 12noon a keke rider was shot dead at Akwakuma junction in Owerri by gunmen.

According to reports, the gunmen attacked the area around 12 noon on Saturday while enforcing sit at home.

An eyewitness said that the gunmen stormed the area in a Sienna bus and started shooting sporadically in the air, causing people to scamper for safety.

He said the keke man was hit by a stray bullet. “They shot the keke rider and another man. I was in my shop when gunshots were heard everywhere, two people were shot dead.”

A resident of the community said “I don’t know why the criminals could not be checked while the military checkpoints are near there. They only extort money from innocent drivers. If this could happen in Owerri, what about the rural areas?

He called on the government and security agencies to wake up to their responsibilities, saying “we cannot afford to allow these hoodlums to operate unchallenged.

As at the time of filing this report, the state police Public Relations Officer, ASP Henry Okoye, was yet to react to the incidents.

  1. A nicely understated post that does not shout for attention, and a look at nextcartstation maintained the same quiet quality, understatement is a stylistic choice that distinguishes serious writing from attention seeking writing and this site has clearly committed to the understated approach as a core editorial value rather than just a phase.

  2. Now adding this to a list of sites I want to see flourish, and a stop at stylishgoodszone reinforced that wish, the few sites I actively root for are sites that produce the kind of work I want more of in the world and this one has joined that small list based on what I have read so far.

  3. Generally my attention drifts on long posts but this one held it through the end, and a stop at globalgoodszone earned the same sustained focus, content that defeats my drift tendency is content with substantive pulling power and this site has demonstrated that pulling power across multiple pieces in a session that has now run quite long actually.

  4. A genuine pleasure to find a site that publishes at a sustainable cadence rather than chasing the daily content treadmill, and a look at crystalmeadowgoods confirmed the careful publication rhythm, sites that prioritise quality over frequency are rare and this one has clearly chosen the slower pace which I appreciate as a reader.

  5. Solid endorsement from me, the writing earns it, and a look at qualitytrendzone continues to earn it across the broader site too, the kind of operation that maintains quality across many pages rather than just one viral post is a sign of serious commitment and that is what I see here clearly across what I read.

  6. Now planning to recommend this site in a context where my recommendations are taken seriously, and a stop at urbanbaygoods confirmed I should make that recommendation soon, the small but real act of recommending content into spaces where my taste matters is something I take seriously and this site is worth the recommendation.

  7. If patience for careful reading is rare these days finding sites that reward it is rarer still, and a stop at vividcartcorner extended that rare reward, the diminishing returns on shallow content reading have made me more selective about where to spend reading time and this site is meeting the higher selectivity bar consistently.

  8. Felt the writer was speaking my language without trying to imitate it, and a look at trendycartstation continued that natural fit, when a writers default voice happens to match what you find easy to read the experience feels frictionless and that is something I notice and remember about specific sites going forward.

  9. Looking back on this reading session it stands as one of the better ones recently, and a look at stylishgoodsstation extended that ranking, the informal ranking of reading sessions against each other is something I do mentally and this session ranks high largely because of this site and a couple of related pages here.

  10. Good quality through and through, no rough edges and no signs of being rushed, and a quick look at urbanpetalstore kept the same polish going, the kind of site that respects its own brand by maintaining consistency across pages which is something I always appreciate as a reader looking for trustworthy information online today.

  11. Decent post that improved my afternoon a small amount, and a look at shopneststore added a bit more to that, sometimes the small wins online add up over time and a useful site like this one is the kind of place that contributes consistently to those small wins for me lately across many different topics I follow.

  12. Pass this along to colleagues if the topic comes up, the framing here is sensible, and a stop at goldenpetalmarket adds more useful angles to share, the kind of content that improves conversations rather than just feeding them is what makes a resource genuinely valuable in professional contexts going forward over time and across project boundaries too.

  13. Now adding the writer to a small mental list of voices I want to follow, and a look at hypercartarena reinforced that follow intention, the few writers whose work I actively track are writers who have demonstrated sustained quality and this writer has clearly demonstrated that sustained quality across the pieces I have sampled here today.

  14. Reading this prompted me to clean up some old notes related to the topic, and a stop at urbanbuyarena extended that organising urge, content that triggers personal organisation rather than just consuming attention is content with motivating energy and this site has the kind of clarity that prompts active follow up rather than passive consumption.

  15. A piece that did not try to be timeless and ended up reading as durable anyway, and a look at brighttrendmarket extended that durable feel, content that stays useful past its publication date without straining for permanence is content that ages well and this site has the kind of evergreen quality that I value highly today.

  16. Reading this between two meetings turned out to be the highlight of the morning, and a stop at globalcartcenter continued that highlight quality, content that outshines the structured parts of a working day is doing something well beyond ordinary and this site has produced multiple such highlights for me already this week alone.

  17. Bookmark earned, calendar reminder set, share queued, all from one good post, and a look at lunarpetalcorner did the same, when a single reading session triggers multiple downstream actions you know the content has actually moved me beyond the page and this site is moving me at that higher level reliably.

  18. More substantial than most of what I find searching for this topic online, and a stop at stylishpickzone kept that quality consistent, this is one of those sites where the writing actually rewards careful reading rather than punishing the patient reader with empty filler stretched out across long paragraphs that say very little.

  19. Now setting aside time on my next free afternoon to read more from the archives, and a stop at crystalfieldstore confirmed that time will be well spent, the rare site whose archive deserves a dedicated reading session rather than just casual sampling is the kind of resource worth scheduling around and this one qualifies clearly.

  20. Now adjusting my expectations upward for the topic based on this post, and a stop at silveroakcorner continued that bar raising effect, content that resets what I think is possible on a subject is doing real work in shaping my standards and this site is providing those bar raising experiences at a notable rate during sessions.

  21. Looking through other posts here the consistency is what makes the site valuable rather than any single piece, and a stop at digitaltrendcorner extended that consistency observation, sites whose value lies in the ongoing pattern rather than in standout posts are sites I trust more deeply and this one has clearly built that kind of trust.

  22. A relief to read something where I did not have to fact check every claim mentally, and a look at twilightpetalmarket continued that reliable feeling, sites where I can lower my guard and trust the content are rare and this one is earning that trust paragraph by paragraph through consistent careful work behind the scenes.

  23. Probably the kind of site that should be more widely read than it appears to be, and a look at brighttrendstation reinforced that quiet wish, the gap between a sites quality and its apparent reach is sometimes large and that gap exists for this site in a way that makes me want to mention it more.

  24. Found this really helpful, the explanations are simple but they actually answer the questions a normal reader would have, and after I followed goodscarthub I had a clearer sense of the topic, no extra fluff just useful points laid out in a sensible order that made the time worth it.

  25. Going to come back when I have more time to read carefully, the post deserves more than a quick scan, and a stop at urbantrendstation reinforced that, this is the kind of site that rewards a slower read which is hard to find in this fast paced corner of the internet but really worthwhile.

  26. Liked the careful word choice throughout, every term seemed picked for a reason rather than thrown in casually, and a stop at radiantgrovegods continued that precise style, this kind of attention to small details is what separates careful writing from the usual rushed content that dominates blog spaces today across pretty much every topic I follow.

  27. Reading this prompted me to clean up some old notes related to the topic, and a stop at infinitycartmarket extended that organising urge, content that triggers personal organisation rather than just consuming attention is content with motivating energy and this site has the kind of clarity that prompts active follow up rather than passive consumption.

  28. Reading this in pieces over a coffee break and finding it consistently rewarding, and a stop at trendinggoodszone extended that into related material I will return to later, the kind of site that fits naturally into small reading windows without requiring a long uninterrupted block is genuinely useful for how I actually browse.

  29. Reading this gave me a small framework I expect to use going forward, and a stop at urbanpickzone extended that framework, content that produces transferable mental models rather than just specific facts is content with multiplicative value and this site is providing those models at a rate that justifies extra attention from me regularly.

  30. Well done, the writing is professional without being stiff, and the topic is treated with care, and a look at velvetpeakgoods reflected that approach, the kind of site I would point a colleague to if they asked for a reliable starting point on this topic in the future without any hesitation at all.

  31. Left me wanting to read more rather than feeling burned out, that is a good sign, and a look at urbanflashmarket confirmed there is plenty more here to explore, the kind of writing that builds appetite rather than killing it which is a rare quality on the modern open internet today across most categories of content.

  32. Came away with a slightly better mental model of the topic than I started with, and a stop at sunhavenessentials sharpened that further, content that improves the reader thinking apparatus rather than just dumping facts into it is the rare kind I genuinely value and seek out when I have time to read carefully.

  33. Top quality material, deserves more attention than it probably gets, and a look at brightforgecraft reflected the same effort across the site, a hidden gem in the modern web where most attention goes to whoever shouts loudest rather than whoever actually delivers the best content for their readers without much marketing fanfare.

  34. Considered as a whole this site has developed a coherent point of view that comes through in individual pieces, and a look at digitalcartzone continued displaying that coherence, sites with a unified perspective rather than a grab bag of takes are sites with editorial maturity and this one has clearly developed that maturity through years of work.

  35. Without overstating it this is a quietly excellent post, and a look at nextlevelcart extended that quiet excellence, content that earns superlatives without demanding them through marketing language is content that has truly earned them through the substance and this site has clearly produced work in that earned excellence category today.

  36. Reading this prompted me to send the link to two different people for two different reasons, and a stop at radiantcoveessentials provided ammunition for a third share, content that suits multiple audiences without being generic enough to be useless to any of them is genuinely valuable and this site has that multi audience quality clearly.

  37. Cuts through the usual marketing fluff that dominates this topic online, and a stop at cartwaymarket kept the same clean approach going, this is the kind of writing that respects the reader’s time rather than wasting it on repetitive setups before finally getting to the point at hand which is what most sites do.

  38. Quality work here, the post reads cleanly and the points stay focused throughout, and a stop at urbantrendcenter kept the standard high, you can tell the writer cares about the final result rather than just hitting publish for the sake of having something new on the page to feed the search engines.

  39. Saving this link for the next time someone asks me about this topic, and a look at goldenshoremarket expanded what I will be sharing with them, this is the kind of resource that makes a real difference when you are trying to point a friend to something useful and reliable rather than generic marketing pages.

  40. Quality writing that respects the reader’s intelligence without overloading them, and a quick look at clevertrendcenter reflected that approach, a balanced thoughtful site that earns trust by being consistent rather than by shouting about how trustworthy it is which is the usual approach online sadly across most content categories.

  41. Bookmark earned, share earned, return visit earned, all from one reading session, and a look at instanttrendmart did the same, the trifecta of bookmark and share and return is rare in a single visit and represents the highest level of engagement I tend to offer any piece of online content these days here.

  42. I usually skim posts like these but this one held my attention all the way through, and a stop at infinitytrendzone did the same, that is a strong endorsement coming from me because I am usually quick to bounce when content gets repetitive or fails to deliver on its initial promise made in the headline.

  43. Really appreciate the lack of pop ups, modals, cookie banners stacking on top of each other, and a quick visit to twilightmeadowgoods confirmed the same clean approach across the rest of the site, technical decisions about user experience are part of what makes content actually pleasant to engage with for sure.

  44. A piece that read smoothly because the writer understood how readers actually move through prose, and a look at twilightfieldmarket maintained the same reader awareness, writers who think about the reading experience as much as the writing experience produce better work and this site has clearly made that shift in editorial approach.

  45. A quiet piece that did not try to compete on volume, and a look at premiumcartzone maintained that selective approach, sites that publish less but better are increasingly rare in an environment that rewards volume and this one has clearly chosen quality cadence over quantity which is a brave editorial decision in current conditions.

  46. A thoughtful read in a week that has been mostly noisy, and a look at aurorastreetgoods carried that thoughtful quality across more pages, finding pockets of considered writing in a week of distractions is one of the small wins of careful curation and this site is providing those pockets at a sustainable rate.

  47. Speaking from the perspective of a fairly demanding reader the writing here clears the bar consistently, and a look at stylishdealzone continued clearing that bar, the calibration of demanding reader is something I apply to all sources and this site has been one of the few that handles the demanding reading well across pieces sampled.

  48. Over the course of reading several posts here a pattern of quality has emerged, and a stop at amberpinecollective confirmed the pattern, the difference between sites that hit quality occasionally and sites that hit it consistently is huge and this site has clearly demonstrated the consistent kind through what I have read this morning.

  49. Useful information presented in a way that does not feel like a sales pitch, that is what I appreciated most, and a stop at goldenbuyzone was the same, no upsell and no fake urgency just steady content laid out properly for someone trying to actually learn from it rather than just be sold to.

  50. Reading this back to back with a similar piece elsewhere made the quality difference obvious, and a stop at prismridgeessentials only widened the gap, comparing content side by side is a useful exercise and the gap between this site and average competitors in the space is large enough to be noticeable from the first paragraph.
