Senate confirms appointment of Aliyu as ICPC chairman

The Senate, on Thursday, confirmed the appointment of Musa Aliyu as the Chairman of the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission.

The Senate also confirmed the appointments of Gadji Dantata and Saka Sulieman as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission.

The confirmation of the nominees was announced by the Deputy Senate President, Jibrin Barau after they were cleared by a voice vote by senators at Thursday plenary.

Aliyu, a lawyer and former Attorney-General of Jigawa State was separately screened by the Committee of Whole.

During the screening, the ICPC Chairman told the senators that he is a Senior Advocate of Nigeria-designate and belongs to many human rights and anti-corruption organisations.

Also, Dantata and Sulieman, who appeared before the Senate for confirmation as members of the Federal Judicial Service Commission also narrated their achievements in the private and public sectors.
