Gov disowns ‘fake’ appointment letter to PDP chairman – Edo

The Edo State Government has refuted a purported appointment letter addressed to the State Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Dr Tony Aziegbemi, naming him Special Adviser Political (Esan North East/Esan South East).

In a statement on Sunday, Secretary to the State Government, Osarodion Ogie, declared that “the letter is fake, fabricated, and the product of mischief makers with the intention of stirring a crisis.”

“The letter did not emanate from the state government, and we enjoin members of the public to disregard it in its entirety,” Ogie affirmed.

The SSG strongly condemned what he described as a “criminal attempt by detractors to cause confusion within the public space” through the fabricated document.

Ogie revealed that the fraudulent letter had been forwarded to the police for investigation. He warned the masterminds to face prosecution as forgery violates existing laws.

“When the culprits are found, they will be made to face the full wrath of the law,” the secretary asserted while urging disregard of the so-called appointment being peddled.
