Fake Recruitment Alert: CDCFIB warns public against scam website ahead of official job Portal launch
The Civil Defence, Correctional, Fire and Immigration Services Board (CDCFIB) has issued a stern warning to the public about fraudulent job recruitment websites, particularly flagging niscareer.org.ng as a scam.
In a public advisory on Thursday, the board cautioned Nigerians not to fall victim to fake platforms promising employment opportunities within the paramilitary services.
“We strongly advise applicants to disregard any job portal other than our official recruitment site,” the CDCFIB stated.
Official Recruitment Begins 14 July
The CDCFIB confirmed that applications for genuine vacancies across its agencies including the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Nigerian Correctional Service, Federal Fire Service, and the Nigeria Immigration Service will officially open on 14 July 2025.
Prospective applicants are instructed to submit their applications exclusively via the government’s official recruitment portal: recruitment.cdcfib.gov.ng
This move aims to ensure transparency and eliminate the exploitation of job seekers through third-party or cloned websites.
Don’t Fall for Fraud
Scam recruitment sites have been known to collect personal data, demand payment, or issue fake employment letters. Victims often realise too late that they’ve been duped.
The CDCFIB reaffirmed that no application fees will be charged and all relevant announcements will be published only via official government channels.
How to Stay Safe
- Always verify web addresses and domain names
- Avoid any site requesting payment or personal banking information
- Report suspicious portals to security authorities or via official channels
As Nigeria continues to battle rising youth unemployment, the CDCFIB’s timely warning is a crucial reminder to job seekers to stay vigilant and informed.
