Earthquake of 5.0 magnitude hit South Africa
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported a 5.0-magnitude earthquake in Johannesburg, South Africa, on Sunday morning.
According to the USGS, the earthquake occurred at 0038 GMT at a depth of 10 kilometres (6 miles).
Tremors were experienced by several Johannesburg residents.
“Earth tremor in Johannesburg” is the longest and most powerful I’ve ever felt! “It went on for about 30 seconds, it felt like,” one resident tweeted.
According to Crisis24, a security risk and crisis management firm, there have been no reports of damage or injuries as a result of the earthquake.
